MA Drivers Reminded About MA's Left Lane Law

Police are asking drivers across the Bay State to be mindful about how they're using the left lane of highways.

A gentle reminder that the left lane is a passing lane comes as the Thanksgiving travel season begins to heat up, and more people are hitting the roads.

State law says drivers should stay in the right lane unless they're passing another vehicle or preparing for a left turn.

That means camping in the left lane without passing other vehicles is actually illegal and subject to a fine of up to 100-bucks, but it's rarely enforced.
