Federal Official Criticizes Healey Over LIHEAP

The federal agency overseeing home heating assistance funds is criticizing Governor Maura Healey for demanding the immediate release of the money.

A U.S. Health and Human Services spokesman says the money is delayed because Democrats refused to vote to reopen the government.

Spokesman Andrew Nixon says Healey is a complete disgrace for the commonwealth of Massachusetts, and should apologize to constituents for the delay in aid.

Healey's spokesman says it's ridiculous to blame the federal shutdown on the governor of Massachusetts.
