A federal judge has approved a six-million-dollar settlement for 150 inmates at the state's maximum security prison.
The inmates sued after they claimed to have been brutally beaten in retaliation for an attack on guards at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley in 2020.
The six-million-dollars will be distributed to the inmates in varying amounts.
The inmates had accused guards of using "malicious and sadistic methods of force against prisoners."
