Agawam Company Penalized For Stormwater Violations Into CT River

The State Department of Environmental Protection is fining a company in Agawam for allegedly violating the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Clean Water Act.

MassDEP says sand and stone supplier J-D-T Rosati failed to implement storm water controls meant to catch sediment. Instead, sediment runoff went into nearby streams that flow into the Connecticut River.

Rosati is ordered to pay 65-thousand-dollars and must immediately install long-term controls.
