Spilka Not In Support Of Healey's Prescription Tax Proposal

State Senate President Karen Spilka is not a supporter of Governor Maura Healey's proposal to tax prescription drugs.

Adding the tax to the budget could generate up to 100-million-dollars for the commonwealth in the upcoming fiscal year.

Spilka says she has heard some concerns about the proposed tax, and says now is not the right time for it.

House Speaker Ron Mariano has previously expressed opposition to a new tax on prescription drugs.
